The Lebanese Society of Allergy and Immunology invited some media and medical figures to attend its 12th scientific conference entitled "Air Pollution and Allergy" held at the Habtoor Hotel, under the patronage of Minister of Healh, Mr. Wael Abu Faour, represented by Chairman of Medical Professions Department Antoine Romanos. The opening session was held by Dr. Philip Rawadi, Dr. Fares Zaitoun, Dr. Elias Khairallah, Dr. Ziad Rahim, Dr. Carla Irani. Speaking at the opening of the National Assembly of Allergy and Immunology Chairman Dr. Philip Rawadi said that referring to the "heavy rise in asthma and allergies and immune diseases in the past fifty years, which affects 20 to 25 percent of the population, these numbers are still rising for many reasons."
Romanos said: “30 to 40% of the world's population are suffering and once we collaborate together, we can face the problem.”
