April 9th RIO 2, the sequel to the highly successful 2011 animation, arrives to the Lebanese cinemas on April 10th.
Following the adventures of Blu, Jewel and their three kids, RIO 2, shows their venture from that magical city into the wilds of the Amazon for a family reunion. Out of his element in a land he doesn't know, Blu must face his most fearsome adversary - his father in law - while evading Nigel's fiendish plans for revenge. All your favorite RIO characters are back, and they’re joined by Oscar® nominee Andy Garcia, Grammy® winner Bruno Mars, Tony® winner Kristin Chenoweth and Oscar/Emmy®/Tony winner Rita Moreno. RIO 2 also features new Brazilian artists and original music by Janelle Monae and Wondaland
To celebrate this comeback, 20th Century FOX, Blue Sky Studios, Empire International and the Brazil-Lebanon Cultural Center will host a premiere on April 9th at Cinema City, Beirut Souks to gather all the Brazilian culture enthusiasts and the most important members of the Lebanese media. Prior to the movie screening, Passos Alegres, currently Lebanon’s most prominent Brazilian music/ performance group, will entertain the invitees.
