Inaugurated on Thursday, November 12 in Dbayeh, The Village is a cluster of 16 restaurants and pubs. The project aims to transform the region into a key food & beverage destination, and is developed in the concept of clusters, which has proven its efficiency on an economical level.

The Village occupies a 4,7500 square meter land lot area on Dbayeh's internal road, with a built up area of 2,500 square meters. The inner courtyard is a green space that also includes a fountain, benches and trees, surrounded by 6 famous restaurants. An upper level is dedicated to 10 bars, and a playground for kids is located on a lower floor bathed in sunlight.

The project is owned by Urban Outlet, founded by Sami Hochar, and is developed in partnership between Concept Group Holding and Venture Group. C-Lab is the project designer and tbsp. is behind the branding and marketing.

Sami Hochar has stated "we've chosen Dbayeh due to the region's commercial and residential growth. The region is also witnessing a big wave of investments in the food and beverage business. Even more, it's a meeting point between various cities and regions, mainly Beirut, Kesrouan and North Lebanon". He also added "The Village aims to attract people from all regions, but mostly the Metn residents, a region that is gaining more importance in the nightlife sector".

"The Village will become a major destination for families, businessmen in search of a nice meeting place, as well as anyone who wants a place to hang out at any time of the day" he added.

M. Hochar explains that those who visit The Village will feel like they've traveled, and this is due to the fact that that the architecture was inspired by old European villages located in northern Spain and southern Italy. "The place is inspired by the architecture of those villages, by the hanging green plants, the water fountain in the squares, and the construction stones," he said.

"The Village is open to everyone. People who don't wish to eat at restaurants or go to pubs can spend their time outdoors enjoying the sports activities, reading books or using our free WiFi on their tablets or mobiles," Hochar said.

What characterizes The Village is more than the variety of restaurants and pubs; it's also the vast green spaces available to everyone.  It aspires to compensate to the lack of public parks in Lebanon, offering people a completely different experience than that of malls and commercial centers.

The management of The Village plans to organize artistic, cultural and sports related activities including exhibitions of paintings and photos, concerts, plays, screenings of films, yoga classes and various children activities, in addition to the seasonal events during holidays.

M. Hochar also explained that "The Village was built on a cluster's model because it has proven its efficiency on a retail business level, which lightens the spending of the shop owners as they divide the exploitation costs between themselves".

He also pointed out that "the demand has become higher than the offer in regards to the number of restaurants in the project. 16 units have been rented while another 15 are on a waiting list".

The Village is now home to the following restaurants and bars: Lina's, Crepaway, Nasma, 190 by Obi, Toto, Divvy, Barcelona, BistroBar, Bodo, Pablo EscoBar, Faze II, Rural, The Bar, The Mayor, The Oak Cocktail Bar, and Trumpet.
