If you were ever to daydream, wouldn't you imagine yourself sitting somewhere on a rooftop, sipping on some moet champagne, wearing pearls that suit your new lanvin dress, while cutting through a piece of juicy steak, waitressed by Leonardo di Caprio.

Well to tell you the truth it simply turns out not to be a daydream at all (except for the Leonardo di Caprio part, cant promise you that LOL).  At Phoenicia's hotel's French restaurant 'Eau de vie' located on the 11^th floor, at the very top of the hotel, surrounding you with large bay windows, creating beautiful landscapes of the lights of Beirut and the Mediterranean sea, it's the place of daydreams to come true.

As soon as you get into the elevator and press the button that will take you up, you feel bedazzled and fall into a magical tunnel that leads you into a world of glamour and luxury. Just like the famous personage of Alice from Lewis Carroll's books, you find yourself suddenly in a world of wonder, but unlike Alice's story where everything was nonsense, in your world things just seem to fit perfectly together.

As the doors of the elevator open you find yourself in a big lounge salon, that actually can be considered a hallway to the actual dining space and which opens to you the selection of its best wines. As you get to the dining section escorted to your table by a hostess who enchants you with her kind and welcoming Hollywood smile, you can smell the glamour in the air.

As you get seated, waiters start approaching your table, all dressed in identical suits, as if they just stepped out of some burlesque show, and you get the impression that anytime now while pouring you yet another glass of champagne they will start singing and dancing with menus and trays in hand.

Recently 'Eau de vie' hosted its event under the name of 'Diner de Champagne'. The menu includes a salad, an aperitif, a main dish, followed by dessert and coffee/ tea, all the dishes are accompanied with champagne.  The diner was hosted at the price of 110$ per person, but was worth it till the last cent.

While savoring the food, Dj Anthony brought you the mixes of amazing rnb, hip hop and pop songs, re-sung by different artists in such a manner as in to fit the atmosphere of 'Eau de vie' but nevertheless give you the urge to sing or hum along and sway to the beats.

Later on at night, the amazing voice of 'Asmara' gives the dining area a different twist. With her beautiful voice, and famous songs of such stars as Edit Piaf, Whitney Houston and Boney M, she gives the chance of people to have a contest of live karaoke, singing along with her, to the hits, as well as dancing to the music beats offered.

With such a colorful night, sitting an enjoying the atmosphere and people that surround you, you tend to understand that you don't ever want to get up and leave...but as we all know, good things tend to reach an end..with strokes of midnight, you gather your belongings and stand at the entrance of Phoenicia waiting for your car to be escorted, while the cold breeze brushes your face...the only thoughts that stick in your head that second, is how you look forward of coming back to that's rooftop again and again...and well that is the mystical encounter of Phoenicia, its restaurants and its staff...when you visit them once, you will stay enrolled with them forever.

P.s- Just don't forget to exercise in the time loops of in between, or else with all those delicious dishes, that 'Lanvin' dress just wont fit anymore...Joking LOL just enjoy and' Sahtein' as the Lebanese tend to say.
