The Lebanese AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS Association has launched its first event, ALS Day, on Sunday September 13th, 2015 in Bois de Roses Feytroun. This wonderful day gathered families, adults, kids and above all celebrities who came to support the cause and participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge. The day started with a mass at 11 am during which more than 800 persons enjoyed the amazing "Ave Maria" by the opera singer Marc Reaidy. The numerous guests enjoyed the welcome drink, and were offered coffee and manakish on the traditional "saj" while taking pictures on the wall of fame and admiring the 2 panting and hand crafts exhibitions.
They also were enchanted by a very rich buffet and open drinks on the 2 available bars.
Michel Azzi animated this event and Karen Boustany, the writer and TV host, president of the LALS welcomed the guests with a nice speech explaining more about the ALS disease and the association activities and goals.
Alain Borji played both the flute de pan and accordion while the kids were enchanted by the numerous games and live shows at the kids area.
The Underground music parade came to announce the arrival of Dr Jamil Zogheib who gave a speech and cut the LALS cake together with Karen Boustany, the celebrities and the association's members.
A lot of Lebanese celebrities were present to support the LALS and a lot of them participated in the Ice Bucket challenge: Georges Khabbaz, Emil Chahin, Elsie Fernaine, Yorgo Chalhoub, Nicolas Osta, Aline Lahoud, Michel Azzi, Dr Zahi & Fady Helou, Khalil Abou Obeid, Tamar Avakian, Dory Samarani, Charbel Raji, Carine Salamae, Liliane Naasse, Cesar Naasse, Kamil Matta, Ramy Atallah, Elias Zayek, Elie Chalouhi, Joe Sader, Rachelle Nakhoul, Maya Nehme, David Orient, Joelle Fadoul and Chady Richa.
Even some ALS patients participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge!
