The"Educating for Peace: Conflict Resolution and Civic Education in Lebanese Schools"project, was an initiative launched byParadis d'Enfants in partnership with "Min Ila" and "Sawiian" associations, and funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). The projectwhich targeted five public and private schools withdiverse religious and cultural backgrounds and from various regions of Lebanon, was celebrated during aclosing ceremony which was held at the UNESCO Palace on July 5th, 2017 in the presence of:

 

 

-Mr. Imad Al-Ashkar, Head of the Special Education Department and representing Mr. Marwan Hamadeh, Minister of Education and Higher Education;

-Mr. NajadSharafuddin, General Director of the Imam Al-Sadr Foundation, representing Mrs. Rabab Al-Sadr;

-Mr. Serge Tillman,Deputy Councilor for Co-operation and Cultural Action in French Education at the French Cultural Center;

-Mrs. Jennifer Merge, Deputy Pol Econ Chief atthe US Embassy of Beirut;

-Mr. ChasperSarott, First collaborator at the Swiss Embassy; and

-Mr. Tarek Daher, representative of Solidar, Switzerland.

 

 

Trophies were awarded to the directors of the 5 selected schools, and certificates were distributed to the 38 teachers and 50 parents who participated in the project.
