Lebanese Minister of Tourism Michel Pharaon inaugurated the 5th Beirut Cooking Festival and the 2nd Festival du Chocolat on November 12, 2015, in the presence of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants in Lebanon,  a number of ambassadors, and media and social figures. The event took place on the sidelines of “Gourmet Week 2015”.

The Beirut Cooking Festival will span the course of three days from November 12 till November 14. It includes a variety of activities and workshops revolving around the latest cooking techniques with a group of the most famous chefs, dining and etiquette experts, as well as spirits and wine connoisseurs in attendance. The festival also features a collection of the latest crockery and cookware, in addition to special platforms for associations, companies and craftspeople participating in the exhibition.

The Festival du Chocolat, on the other hand, and after the success of its first edition, has become an event not to be missed. Each year, it offers a rich set of flavors, succulent recipes, and interesting encounters with the biggest names in the industry. Some tasting experts, specialists and representatives of famous brands, along with a group of confectionery makers, showcase their experience in the use of chocolate in order to explain the symbolism and the scope of what could be made using the product.

And for the second year in a row, the festival’s opening ceremony featured a runway show for all fashion and chocolate lovers. More than 20 designers displaced their creations: dresses made out of chocolate, under the theme of One Thousand and One Nights. The show’s guest of honor was Lebanese international designer Abed Mahfouz, whose design was executed by chef Charles Azar.

The 5th Beirut Cooking Festival and the 2nd Salon du Chocolat will run from November 12 until November 14, will include 150 exhibitors, and are expecting a count of more than 10,000 visitors.
