We are happy to invite you to attend our latest documentary film "Thank you Soma - شكراً صوما", which will be screened for the first time in Lebanon.
"Thank you Soma - شكراً صوما" (Dir. Carol Mansour), explores the relationship between Nour, a young Lebanese woman, and Soma, the migrant domestic worker who's played a large part in her upbringing. "Thank you Soma" is a reminder for us to not become complacent within our daily comfort, and to continue to question the complexity and injustice inherent in being a migrant domestic worker today.
The film was produced jointly with the International Labor Organization, with funding from UK-aid and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
Time: Tuesday, December 18th 2018 @ 8.30PM
Location: Metropolis Cinema, Sofil Center, Ashrafiyyeh, Beirut.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A discussions session moderated by Ms. Diana Moukalled, and a reception with Sri Lankan food.
