Lebanese residents in all countries are starting to hate their Lebanese Embassies. That’s because of the new regulations that have been set. The new policy is that their passports cannot be renewed as of 01/01/2015.

So Lebanese with passport validities ending this year are facing a big problem. For instance, if they are willing to apply for a Visa, their passports need to be valid for at least 6 months. So, they have to take long vacations (Undoubtedly impossible if they are working or studying) to renew their passports in Lebanon, and delay every possible chance of having a visa anytime soon. This is part of the new Lebanese passport containing a biometric chip, which is a new regulation forced by the International Civil Aviation Organization (based on the ICAO’s Doc 9303).
