For the World Week of Italian Cuisine 2021, the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency organized a solidarity lunch by Italian Chef, Massimiliano Bugliosi, at Nation Station premises in Geitawi – Achrafieh on Saturday 20 November in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy, Nicoletta Bombardiere.
This symbolic gathering was an occasion to meet with Lebanese families living in Geitawi area and to share with them Italian food and culture.
Ambassador Bombardiere stated: "we are organizing this event within the Italian Cooking Week in the world and we decided this year to do something different in Beirut. We chose this iconic place "Nation Station" since its very symbolic and bears witness to the volunteering and solidarity action in the aftermath of the explosion at the port of Beirut. Here many young persons joined efforts to help people living in Geitawi. This is the reason why we wanted to share an Italian quality lunch with the families living here".
