Following its strategic plan for modernization and expansion, the maternity ward of "Sacré-Coeur" Hospital has recently been refurbished. The move comes as a reflection of the hospital's mission of providing better healthcare relentlessly, so the inhabitants of the surrounding region will benefit from a fresh and renovated facility.

HSC announced the official opening of the new unit in an inauguration on July 4th. The President of the Private Hospitals Syndicate, Mr. Sleiman Haroun along with political, spiritual and social figures attended the dedicated ceremony. The event was preceded by a medical symposium moderated by the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, Dr. Simon Menhim, and attended by invitee physicians besides the HSC's healthcare staff to discuss major women health issues.

The renovated unit aims to promote calm and wellbeing for mums and their babies with 27 inpatient beds, two well-equipped antenatal clinic rooms, three delivery rooms, seven first-class and two deluxe postpartum rooms as well as two visitors' waiting rooms.

The inaugural speeches given by the President of the hospital, Sister Ann Sauvé and the General Director Mr. Elie Salem, highlighted the importance of the refurbishment and its contribution to our community. The event was an opportunity to honor and acknowledge the senior physicians and the founders of the Maternity Unit- Dr. Nagi Gharios, Dr. Jean Raad and Dr. Richard Ghorayeb.

The ceremony ended up by a tour of the new unit and then the guests were invited to the buffet.
