Microsoft Lebanon held the Microsoft Experience 2014, a networking afternoon event that brought together Lebanon's technology professionals to discover and experience the latest technologies from Microsoft and its partners. With a plethoric program including an interactive standing conference, a large showcasing area and an augmented magic show, Microsoft Experience 2014 was a must-attend event for professionals and enthusiasts in the technology industry.
The event that took place at PlayRoom, one of Beirut's trendiest venues, was far from formal; it gathered in a laid-back atmosphere many key players in the technology industry including VeriPark, ICC and Vision Solutions, with an audience consisting of business decision makers, IT professionals, customers, developers as well as local media and bloggers.
"Microsoft is deeply committed to driving Lebanon's and the region's economic growth and competitiveness, through technology and innovation", said Hoda Younan, Microsoft Lebanon Country Manager. "This event is a key and regular initiative within Microsoft's commitment to investing in the technology industry; it is the opportunity for businesses to learn new ways to utilize technology and improve their communication, work processes and productivity overall", added Younan.
Throughout the event, Microsoft and partners showcased their latest products, services and solutions taking attendees on a journey to discover the latest Windows 8.1 devices; watch the unveiling of the most innovative apps in the region; experience performance of scalability and security with Windows Server; and witness productivity and mobility at its best, with Office 365.
"With Microsoft Experience 2014, we are showcasing the fruits of technology advancements and expanding on possibilities for using and developing technology", said Hilmi Loulou, ICC Holding Deputy GM. "This event brings together all the ecosystem, showcasing how, together with Microsoft, we are contributing to enabling businesses to operate in the best way possible", he continued.
Revered for its ground-breaking content, the event highlighted Microsoft Lebanon success stories whereby a panel of customers who were the first to deploy Office 365, including Mindshare MENA, Averda and Saint Joseph University, shared their experience emphasizing how Office 365 helped them drive growth and productivity into their businesses. Microsoft Experience 2014 also brought forth an opportunity to familiarize with all products and services through live demonstrations.
Falling on the same day as the global "Play it Safe Day", the event featured a 3 seconds blackout whereby Microsoft reminded the attendees to "Play It Safe" inviting them to ask questions, investigate the packaging, watch out for "too good to be true" prices and demand genuine software to ensure they get what they pay for and protect their families or businesses from the threat of malware associated with pirated or counterfeit software. Microsoft also reminded attendees of the fast approaching date to the end of support for Windows XP and Office 2003, which falls on April 8th 2014.
In one of the biggest IT industry events in Lebanon and the region, Microsoft Experience 2014 provided a unique opportunity for attendants to experience the latest Microsoft offerings and benefits first-hand. A special augmented magic show tailored specifically for the event, mesmerized and fascinated the audience.
