Melhem Barakat Passes Away at 71

Today we have sad news to report that our beloved Lebanese singer MelhemBarakat passed away. He was battling final stages of Prostate Cancer for weeks at Hotel Dieu Hospital. We share our sincerest and deepest condolences to his family and friends from us at Beiruting.

Aged only 71, MelhemBarakat has achieved so many great things since the 1960s such as being a valued singer, songwriter, and melodist known and loved by us all. He has participated as an actor and singer in many of the Rahbani Brothers' musicals and operettas as well.

His strong voice will constantly ring in our ears. His memory will forever be lived through his songs. He is long from lost from our hearts. We pray that you found peace.

May his strong spirit and love of life be an inspiration to us all.
