Deir El Qamar
The village of Deir el Qamar played a leading role in the political history
Mount Lebanon. It was the city of Maan Emirs and their successors, Chehab,
between the sixteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Apart from the monuments of a set
palatial typical of any town of that rank (Seraglio, stables, palace, mosque, maydan)
there are the patrician houses of the local notables, as well as
courtyard houses, houses elementary and newer homes in lobby
The historic heart of the village is relatively well preserved. For almost 50
years, important monuments have been restored by the Branch
Recently, a blueprint was created, imposing restrictions on the
uncontrolled restoration of old buildings.
