The Lebanese Society of Cardiology with the Heart Failure working group and Dr Hadi Skouri, Cardiologist at AUBMC and Chairman of the Heart Failure working group of the Lebanese Society of Cardiology (LSC) organized a special journey "Hike for Heart Failure" to raise awareness about Heart Failure with the collaboration of ministry of health and the presence of the Lebanese sportsman, mountaineer and explorer Mr. Maxime Chaya at Cedar Reserve Al Chouf. More than 200 people participated in this activity and enjoyed the beauty of nature of our beloved Lebanon especially the Chouf biosphere reserve. Heart failure (HF), also known as chronic heart failure (CHF), is when the heart is unable to pump sufficiently to maintain blood flow to meet the body's needs.
Signs and symptoms of heart failure commonly include shortness of breath, excessive tiredness, and leg swelling.
Beiruting and Aalamoki were part of this activity to raise awareness in addition to many sponsors who made this day a great success. Santiveri offered their Choco Quinoa healthy biscuits, Goodies offered snacks and juices, Lindt chocolate, Healthy U and Cafe21 offered also samples from their products, and Sebamed offered sun care products to all hikers.
