The month of October is identified with Breast Cancer that it is commonly referred to as "Pinktober" dedicated to celebrating Life, spreading awareness, and going pink in support of the fight against Breast Cancer. Under the title of "Pink Bites", Bill's Bites turned into pink this October to help raising awareness, so women can proceed to early detection of Breast Cancer for the effective management of the disease. Mr. Haidar Hamdar, Bill's Bites Owner has invited media figures and celebrities over a brunch to discuss this topic with Dr. Sami Kawas, Family Doctor, while the guests were enjoying a very special Bio menu prepared especially for this occasion. Haidar welcomed the guests and highlighted on the importance of Health by early detection of Breast Cancer and also by choosing the right food to avoid Diabetes, and this is the mission of Bill's Bites who always care for the health and the good food. Dr. Sami Kawas gave a small introduction in health awareness and maintenance as viewed by the number one most recruited specialty in the world: family medicine. Through this specialty, people shall evoke the importance of preventive medicine, primary preventive programs such as vaccination, balanced diet and exercises, and screening tests such as mammography and pap-smear. Mrs. Maha Ayoubi, a Cancer Survivor shared her experience with the guests and highlighted on the importance of being strong and doing early check-ups.
This event was the second of many events organized by OrchideaByRita with the cooperation of Mrs. Mariam Mogharbel in order to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and its early detection.

Dr. Sami Kawas is a Graduate of the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1984, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988. Underwent extensive postgraduate medical training in Sweden and awarded a diploma as General Medical Practitioner, as well as the unrestricted license to practice in Sweden in 1992 (and thus in all the EU). Became also a Family Medicine Specialist in AUBMC in 1997, with a license to practice in all the Lebanese territory (file number K/213) and became a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Then sub-specialized in Esthetic Medicine and Clinical Nutrition in Lyon, Nice and Monaco in 1998. Also in parallel, became officially appointed by the Lebanese Ministry of Justice as a certified Legal and Forensic Medicine Doctor in the Beirut District (Decree № 6626) since October 2001, and was awarded a formal University Diploma in Legal Medicine from the University Hospital Center of Legal Medicine in Rouen in 2009.
